Introducing the Team Nordic Gravel Series
Antti-Jussi Juntunen & Joonas Henttala
Antti-Jussi has been a talented cyclist since his junior days as a road cyclist and is a two time Finnish champion. At the moment he is the reigning Finnish champion in Road, Gravel and MTB marathon. As a skilled and technical rider he is passionate about, and for 2024 dedicated to, riding gravel.
Last year's second place in FNLD GRVL and twentieth at the European Championship’s give an indication of the ambitions for the coming season. AJJ will be pinning on race numbers and challenge the best riders in the world at the biggest gravel events in Europe. The Gravel Earth Series and Nordic Gravel Series season classification are some of the objectives.
Joonas has been cycling competitively for over two decades of which he spent 11 years riding professionally. He has victories and podiums in Finnish championships, top 10 results in professional races and breakaways in races like Milan-San Remo and Tirreno-Adriatico.
Joonas retired from pro cycling at the end of 2023 but his competitive soul and new found love for gravel cycling guarantee he will be out there with the best on several occasions this season. Joonas also works as a coach and is a partner at Breakaway.cc / Nordic Gravel Series.
